Resumes and Cover Letters
A resume and cover letter are marketing tools to impress a potential employer and secure an interview. There are hundreds of books on the market with good advice about writing effective resumes and cover letters, each with a different opinion on style and content. An impactful one-page resume summarizes the relevant education, experiences, and skills required to secure and excel in the role. A quality cover letter informs the reader ‘why they should hire you’ for the opportunity and describes what makes you uniquely qualified for the role.

Curriculum Vitaes (CVs)
A curriculum vitae (CV) is a marketing tool to impress an employer in academia (teaching and research) or industry (research departments) and secure an interview. Your CV, typically 2-3 pages long, will highlight how your educational and professional experiences make you a strong candidate for the job, grant, or fellowship opportunity.
