This contract is valid for the Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 semesters. *

As a member of the Trojan community, your actions represent and impact the way other current and future Trojans will be viewed by employers. Therefore, you are responsible to conduct yourself appropriately and ethically in all interactions with employers during the recruitment process and in your employment. By agreeing to the terms in this contract, you acknowledge that you are aware of the policies and procedures set forth by USC and the USC Career Center. Please review each section before submitting this contract.

FALSIFYING INFORMATION: Providing false or plagiarized information in my connectSC, Handshake, or any other USC-managed platform profile, resume, or application materials, as well as on employer career portals or partner sites to meet interview/hiring requirements is unethical. I understand that if I falsify or plagiarize information or otherwise engage in unethical behavior during the recruitment process or in my employment, I will be suspended from further participation in On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) and use of connectSC, Handshake, and any other USC-managed job search platform through the end of the subsequent Academic Semester. Other university sanctions may also apply, including filing a report with the USC Student Judicial Affairs and Community Standards (SJACS). If I am unsure of how to present my background or experience, I will consult the Career Center or my school-based career services office.

INTERVIEWS: I will conduct myself in a professional and respectful manner in all communications and interactions with employers and recruiters. If I need to cancel an OCR interview, I will do so on connectSC at least 72 hours prior to the interview date to avoid a “No-Show” status. If there is an emergency, I will notify the USC Career Center by phone at (213) 740-9105. I understand that if I cancel my interview less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled interview or do not show for the interview, I will be granted a “No-Show” status and will be suspended from further use of connectSC and participation in OCR through the end of the subsequent Academic Semester.

ACCEPTING AN OFFER: After I accept an official offer for employment (for any type of position, including internships and fellowships), I will discontinue further recruiting and/or interviewing with all other employers and inform the Employer Engagement Team at the USC Career Center of my accepted offer by completing the Career Outcomes section in connectSC (My Account > Career Outcomes > Add New).

RENEGING: If I renege or withdraw on an accepted offer, my connectSC, Handshake, and any other USC-managed job search platform access will be suspended through the end of the subsequent Academic Semester. Consequences of reneging or withdrawing acceptances may apply to me if the opportunity was from connectSC, Handshake, or any other USC-managed job search platform. Industries are small and recruiters are well connected; I could potentially harm my professional reputation resulting in limited opportunities for myself and fellow Trojans. For more information about accepting and not reneging internship/job offers, click here.

* “Academic Semester” is defined as the fall or spring semester. As an example, if your access is removed during the spring semester, you will not regain access until the end of the upcoming fall semester. If your access is removed during the fall semester, you will not regain access until the end of the upcoming spring semester.

I have read and understand the content of this contract. I understand that if I do not adhere to any part of this contract, there will be consequences. If I do not understand any part of this contract, I agree to seek clarification from a USC Career Center staff member before I sign/acknowledge this contract.
