Western MA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering survivors.
The YW provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence, sexual
assault, and human trafficking. Our programs and services include crisis
shelter and transitional housing for survivors and their families,
counseling, SAFEPLAN court advocacy, community education, supervised
visitation, and vocational training for youth. The YWCA provides
services at multiple locations, including Holyoke, Northampton,
Belchertown, Westfield and our primary Springfield campus. Summary
Reporting to the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible to safeguard
the assets of the YWCA in accordance with established policies and
procedures for the posting and maintenance of all data in the financial
accounting system. The position maintains subsidiary schedules and
assists with year-end audit, program budgets and audits, financial and
ad hoc reporting in accordance with GAAP. Works collaboratively
throughout the organization with a special emphasis on grant preparation

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 to 3
years’ experience or an Associate’s degree in Accounting with at least
five years’ experience. Ability to effectively communicate both
verbally and in writing required. Must have the ability to work
independently and within a team atmosphere. Proficiency with computers
and spreadsheets, word processing, and accounting programs required.
Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and computer
skills. Access to reliable transportation and valid driver?s license
