Communications Assistant
Student position
The Pullias Center for Higher Education, part of the USC Rossier School of Education, is seeking a part-time undergraduate or graduate student to join its team. The position supports the Communications and Administrative Projects departments at the world’s leading research center promoting equity, student access and success in higher education. This is a great opportunity to further develop and apply communications and media skills in a high-profile organization.
Responsibilities
The student will participate in several functions related to external communications for the Center. These include:
° Social media content creation and posting on the Center’s three channels: Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, and occasionally Instagram.·
° Compilation of content for the Rossier faculty research newsletter, and providing support for the Pullias Center’s regular emails (Constant Contact).
° Proofreading various communications materials, including newsletters, social media posts, website pages, research publications, etc.
° Researching and drafting news items and press releases
° Helping to update and maintain the Center’s websites using WordPress/Brizy (pass.pullias.usc.edu & Pullias.usc.edu).
° Brainstorming opportunities to generate broader awareness of Pullias Center research and faculty.
° Photography at Center and campus events; occasional video editing

After an initial screening, selected candidates will be asked to provide two recommendations plus writing and/or design samples that showcase their abilities. The position will commence late Spring and is expected to be about 5-10 hours weekly during the summer. The position will continue into the new academic year as well at approximately 10-15 hours weekly. The selected employee will be required to provide their own laptop/desktop computer for work.
