We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for summer 2024 to work in the Innovation Lab. The Innovation Lab is responsible for developing breakthrough concepts for use in Semiconductor Test Systems of the future. As a member of Innovation Lab, the Summer Mechanical Engineer will be embedded as this group develops multiple exciting products.
- The role is based out of our office in North Reading, MA and requires on-site presence.
- We are not able to provide relocation assistance.
- The co-op duration is flexible with a target start date of mid May 2024 and ending in the Fall 2024

Position Summary
As a Summer Mechanical Engineer, the candidate will apply their knowledge of Mechanical Engineering towards:
- Design and refine mechanical design for components in our lab setup
- Rapid prototype using additive and subtractive processes like 3D printing, machine shop tools, etc.
- Make measurements, inspect and assemble Engineering prototypes
- Use SolidWorks to design and model parts, assemblies, drawings
- Build and run FEA simulations, report to team, make design improvements
- Design parts for positioning and vision systems and program them in python or MATLAB, etc.
- Participate in team meetings, and present quantitative and qualitative findings in an organized and professional manner
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers in multiple subject areas
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a BS Program (Junior or Senior Level), exceptional Sophomores will be considered
- Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks part creation, drawings, and large assemblies
- Knowledge of measurement systems and techniques
- Strong ability to communicate
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new information
- Ability to manage their time
- Positive attitude
- Enjoys hands on approach toward engineering
Education
You should be in your Junior or Senior year of school working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering
