Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories – Engineering Services (SEL – ES) seeks a professional, eager to learn student that has a passion for what they do! This opportunity will provide the intern real world experience on protection and control projects for actual customers of SEL. Partnering alongside our experienced engineers, this intern’s focus will be system protection and control, protective relays and their applications, settings, and testing. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
2. Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
3. Perform testing on new and existing technology.
4. Document and communicate test results.
5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current student pursing a degree in EET or relevant discipline
- Interest in electrical power systems
- Self-motivated/self-starter
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)

Pay Range Data
$17-28.50 per hour. Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
