SAIC is seeking a Technical Intern I in an engineering discipline to join our mechanical engineering team that is ready to have a real insight into the world of work, test your skills in real-life situations, explore your career options and gain an insight into an organization or career path. Hybrid Remote.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develops static and dynamic design of mechanical systems, equipment and packages.

Works collaboratively with electrical, computer and systems engineers to design complete systems.

Designs hardware for mounting and support of electrical systems and creates fabrication drawings in SolidWorks for components to be fabricated at outside machine shops.

Incorporates redlines into drawings for Engineering Change Proposals.
Supervision Received: Close supervision involving detailed instructions and constant checking on work performance.
IMPACT: Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit and would only result in minor disruption or expense to correct.
LIAISON: Contacts are primarily within immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: AA Degree in related discipline; Or, High School and 0 years experience.

Some college-level classes completed in an engineering discipline

Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment

Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

Candidates should have strong written and oral communications abilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common office software applications is required
U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
CLEARANCE:
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
