The following resources can help you reflect on your interests, identify skills/strengths/values, and explore potential majors and career paths.  All resources can be accessed via Handshake.*

  1. What Can I do with this major?: Helps students to identify career areas and industries. It includes related professional associations and popular job search links related to the career areas.
  2. Your Next Step: Visit the Assessment Center modules located in the “Get Started” tab to take one of the following skills questionnaires: Personal Preferences, Strongest Skills, Professional Skills, Assess Your Temperament, or Should I Start A Business.
  3. My Next Move: An interactive tool highlighting over 900 different careers. Users can find careers through keyword search; by browsing industries that employ different types of workers; or via the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person’s interests and level of work experience.
  4. VMock Career Fit: Explore career tracks and use the module to begin developing an action plan.  If you upload your resume you can view how it aligns with a target career and see a gap analysis to identify the skills, activities, and experiences you might need to work towards your desire career.
  5. Academic Exploration Advising: Located in STU 300, AEA provides assistance with understanding entrance to major requirements and course selection.  The Career Center collaborates with AEA for students exploring careers.  Review the AEA referral process  to connect with an advisor to explore majors, entrance/change of program requirements, and more.

We encourage you to review our Career Development Process and reach out to an advisor by selecting “Career Exploration” in the advising appointment options if you have questions.
