Welcome to the USC Career Services Handshake Training Page.
This page covers Handshake training for USC career services staff and student workers requesting a career services administrative Handshake account.
Handshake is the university-wide CSM platform used across campus that includes staff from the central Career Center and the school-based career offices. It is important that all new career service professionals and student staff get properly onboarded and trained because there are a number of system settings that will affect all users and impact the functionality of the platform.
How to Gain Access to Handshake as New Professional or Student Staff
Step 1 – Initial Handshake Account Request
Please follow the steps below to have a general Handshake admin account created.
- Go to http://trojanlearn.usc.edu and sign in with your USC Net ID.
- In the search bar, type “FERPA”
- Take the “USC FERPA Awareness” training.
- Take a screenshot of the completion certificate.
- Include an authorization note from your Department’s designated Handshake Administrator.
- Submit the account request form below
You will be granted a basic Handshake account within 1-2 business days. Upon receipt of your basic account, please proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 – Role Permissions Module
Complete the linked form below which includes Handshake Academy trainings and USC Standard Operation Procedure review. Please do not submit until completing Step 1 and receiving your account.
