Wondering what you can do with your major? Looking for an internship? Interested in learning more about what working in certain industries is like? This event is for you!
Investigate Industries and Internships (i3) is designed for undergraduate students who are exploring various career options, eager to hear professional journeys, and looking for internship opportunities to help determine what path to take. At an i3 event, you can learn how employers broke into their respective industries, hear about what it is actually like to work in the field, and network with them to let them know what makes you a great intern. All participating employers offer paid internships for fall, spring, or summer semesters, so this is your chance to learn more about their company and make a great impression. For more information, please read the FAQ below.
RSVPs are requested for this event. Log into connectSC, click “Events” then “Workshops” then search for your desired i3 day and click “RSVP.”
Please contact us at (213) 740-9105 if you have any questions. If you are a part of a student organization that would like to see a certain industry represented, please email Gina Ibrahim at email@example.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is i3? What does the day of i3 look like?
i3 is a four-day, two-part event, that begins with a panel and ends with networking. During the panel, you will be able to learn more about what it is like to work in a specific industry and how to enter the field. The subsequent networking portion of i3 will allow you to speak more personally to the present employers about their professional journeys, as well as learn about internship opportunities with their company. This is your chance to meet with, ask questions, and give your resume to employers!
Can ______ industry have an i3 day? My student organization is interested in collaborating.
We consider industries the semester prior to the event (i.e., for Fall 2018, we consider industries in Spring 2018). Email firstname.lastname@example.org the semester before your desired event with suggestions for industries you would like to see. Priority will be given to student organizations that are willing to partner with the Career Center for the event.
Partnership includes: (1) being highlighted as a partner in the Career Center’s i3 marketing (social media, online, and print), (2) providing a list of desired employers to the Career Center for targeted outreach, (3) early entry to the event for one to two executive board leaders for early networking with employers, and (4) assisting with moderating the employer panel.
Where is the event located?
Locations are to be determined. This webpage, as well as the event page on connectSC, will be updated when locations are finalized.
What should I wear for the event?
There is no specific dress code for i3, however, we recommend business casual. First impressions are important!
Should I bring copies of my resume?
Yes, it is highly recommended to bring copies of your resume as employers may ask for it.
