The Role:
By the end of the summer se ion, the intern will have gained the experience and confidence to enter the professional world as an EHS Specialist, understanding and able to carry out industry-best health & safety responsibilities and a basis understanding of environmental regulations for running an industrial site.
In This Role You Will:
The EHS intern will assist with essential EHS requirements, such as assisting with new hire safety orientation Weekly MPCA Inspections Weekly eye wash/shower station inspections Monthly AED inspections and ERT bag check Monthly Area Audits Data entry into ETQ database including a variety of data such as daily safety observations, near misses, incidents. This database houses various other modules the candidate will have exclusive rights and responsibilities to be entering, editing, referencing, etc. This a complex environmental database that will give someone the opportunity to gain much knowledge and take away a great deal of experience from. Assign safety tasks and follow through Development of lock out/tag out work instructions and auditing of procedures. Job safety analysis documentation Participation on root cause investigations for incidents Create Ergonomic assessment program for production areas & drive assessments to reduce risks Chemical Inventory analysis and updating LOTO Program & Procedure Auditing.
Traits We Believe Make a Strong Candidate:
Bachelor of Science: technical degree, i.e.Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or engineering Organized Communication & presentation skills Good computer skills, familiar with Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
