THE ROLE:
Work in the power performance attainment (ie optimization) team to improve the battery life and performance of SoCs and Systems for not-yet-released and sometimes protected (NDA controlled) projects.
The System Power and Performance Analysis Engineer Co-Op/Intern position is responsible for assisting the team with projects to achieve the battery life and performance goals through setting up, running, configuration of systems or experiments. The efforts will involve collecting power measurements, or performance results and finding the best configurations. Additionally, analysis of results and presentation of these findings are equally important.
THE PERSON:
We are seeking an analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate: enjoys ambitious work in a multi-project team environment using state-of-the-art tools and technology, is a self-starter who is able to work independently to complete tasks on schedule, and demonstrates creativity with “out-of-the-box” solutions and high initiative to solve unassigned but project impacting issues. Fluency in English is a requirement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with Architects, Engineers, Customers to learn and solve problems
• Comfort in communicating results, interacting in group settings and debugging issues with other
• Knowledge of hardware in PCs, motherboards, Gaming system setups (building a PC, installing memory, installing a processor/heatsinks, etc.)
• Knowledge in variables affecting PC performance
• Knowledge in variables affecting battery life
• Confidence and expertise in Windows environments
• Problem solving to achieve the communicated goals
• Ability to work efficiently in person and remotely as dictated by the team and circumstances
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Fluency in English
• Hardware and System Knowledge
• Working knowledge of Windows environments
• Knowledge of System Verilog, UVM (plus)
• General tools experience with MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, etc.)
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
• Enrolled in BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related
