The USC Career Center Stands with Black Trojans

« Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The USC Career Center stands with our Black Trojans. We stand with Black students and alumni as they embark on their professional journeys. We stand with our Black staff, faculty, and employers.

We believe Black Lives Matter. Black dreams matter. Black careers matter. Equal opportunity matters.

We acknowledge that to effect positive change, we must not be silent. Racism, unconscious bias, and discrimination persist, and we are committed to dismantling these systemic and oppressive ideologies and practices through the following:

  • We are continuing to address with employer’s anti-racist and non-discriminatory recruitment policies
  • We are assessing our advising protocols to ensure that we support and empower students and do not place further burdens on them
  •  We are examining our resume and application formalities to allow students to present themselves and their experiences in the way that best supports who they are.
  •  We are providing and promoting D&I efforts, including supporting the addition of anti-racist work as a core career readiness competency for our professional association, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

We recognize that this is just the start. More work is needed as we support and help Black Trojans (students and alumni) fulfill their professional aspirations.
