Available Services

What services are available to alumni?
Whether you are a recent graduate, mid-level professional, or a retiree, we have resources to meet your career needs. We provide online job search resources, alumni-only career fairs, career events focused on the latest trends in career management, networking events and access to exclusive job listings though connectSC (our official job listing platform for the Trojan Family).

How do we define a recent graduate?
We define a recent graduate as a Trojan within their first three years after graduation. If you graduated in the last three years, you are considered a recent graduate.

I graduated in the last three years. What career counseling services are available for me?
Recent graduates have access to all services we offer except On-Campus Recruiting (OCR). If you are a recent graduate, in addition to a wealth of resources, events and webinars, you may also schedule up to four 50-minute individual appointments per calendar year. I graduated in the last four years or more. What career counseling services are available for me?

We have partnered with Career Journeys, a professional career counseling service, to provide discounted fee-based career counseling on a variety of career related issues including: career exploration, starting a business, branding yourself through your resume or online media, and more. Through Career Journeys, appointments are available seven days a week and include early morning, late evening and weekend appointments. Whether you wish to complete a career assessment or need help staying motivated, Career Journeys can support your career needs.

Does the Career Center offer psychological counseling, therapy, or recommend practitioners in the surrounding area?
We do not provide psychological counseling therapy, or referrals to counseling centers, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, or other individual care providers.

Do you provide information on changing industries or careers?
Career development is a fluid process and we understand that Trojans may change jobs or careers. Each year, we offer events to serve all alumni who are changing jobs and industries. In addition, please register for the Career Network to link up with other alumni who may be employed in the industry or job you are interested in pursuing and start making connections today.

I am reentering the work force; what should I do?

Are there other career services on campus I can use as a resource?
A number of the USC professional schools have career services that offer resources and host events dedicated to their respective alumni. You can find more about career services and the assistance USC academic schools here.

How can I contact the USC Career Center? Where is your office located?

When is the USC Career Center open?
We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. However, most of our resources are available online 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

Events, Webinars and Multi-Media

How can I find out more about alumni career events and how do I register?
We offer alumni a wide range of local, regional and international alumni events and webinars that are hosted throughout the academic year and featuring speakers who are leaders in their fields. Some events are geared to specific alumni populations while others may be more general and focus on the latest career trends. To learn more about the many career events offered to alumni and to register, please visit our events page.

Does the Career Center offer a career fair just for alumni?
We host an annual spring Alumni Career Fair. Typically, there are over 1,000 alumni that attend the fair with 100 employer representatives. All alumni are welcome to attend and must register for this Alumni Career Fair.

May I attend the fall and spring student career fairs? Do I need to register?
We host a fall and a spring career fair for students. Typically, there are 150-200 employers that attend the fair. Recent graduates are welcome to attend the fair and do not need to register.

Are alumni career events open to all alumni?
Yes! All alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend events.

How does the USC Career Center support alumni who live outside of Southern California?
We partner with the USC Alumni Association and host regional career events in collaboration with local USC alumni clubs. We are available to consult with alumni club leaders in planning career events in their area. We also offer LinkedIn International Webinars on critical career management topics.

May I bring my spouse, friend or partner to a USC alumni career event?

Yes, alumni are welcome to bring their spouses, partners and friends to alumni career events.

Does the Career Center archive career-related webinars?
Since 2010, we have partnered with LinkedIn and Robert Half International to offer career webinars on hot topics in the career development field. To access archived webinars log in to connectSC and click on the “Resources” tab.

Recruit Trojans and Post Jobs

My organization would like to post an internship or full-time position for students and alumni. How can I do that?
We encourage alumni to post positions for USC students and alumni on connectSC, USC’s official job listing platform for the Trojan Family. Alumni and employers interested in hiring a Trojan may post positions for free on connectSC. If you already have an alumni account in connectSC, you will have to create a separate account to post a job as an employer.

My organization would like to participate in On-Campus Recruiting for students. Who should I contact and is there a fee?
