Parents - Services for Students

Internships – The focus of the Career Center's Internship Office is to connect students with internship opportunities in all fields. From their first year through graduation, students can take advantage of daily one-on-one sessions and events in the Fall and Spring semesters. We also provide lists of courses for internships (required if an internship is unpaid), e-mails highlighting internship opportunities, and every semester we host Internship Week.

Career Fair – During the first or second month of each semester the Career Center hosts nearly 200 employers from a wide variety of fields including the Fortune 500, government and non-profits as well as small and mid-size organizations representing diverse industries. The opportunities are for students in all majors and disciplines, and range from internships to full-time jobs.

Internship Week – Shortly after the Career Fair each semester, we host a series of panels highlighting a variety of industries, including: Gaming & Technology, Advertising & Public Relations, Non-Profit & the Arts and Real Estate. These panel events create an environment where students can network with employers and share their knowledge and expertise.

connectSC – A online job and internship resource for currently enrolled USC students and registered alumni. The database contains listings for full-time, part-time as well as internship, summer and work study positions. Please encourage your student to register on connectSC at http://careers.usc.edu/.

iNet Internship Consortium -USC is proud to provide students with another resource to finding that next internship! In addition to connectSC, students can now access the iNet Internship Consortium. The iNet Consortium attracts employers from across the country to post internships that are available to students from a select group of universities including: USC, Georgetown, MIT, NYU, Northwestern, Rice, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania and Yale.

Internship Programs Newsletter – Once a week this newsletter highlights many paid and unpaid opportunities both in southern California and out-of-state. Additionally, Career Center programs and workshops are posted so students can prepare for their careers. To get this weekly e-mail, register on connectSC.

On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) – The USC On-Campus Recruiting program is an excellent way for students to interview with companies and organizations for both full-time and internship opportunities. In order to participate, your student needs to register with the Career Center through connectSC, and complete the ‘OCR Contract’ at http://careers.usc.edu/students/.

Company Profile Events – During the academic semester, employers host evening Information Sessions around campus and here in the Career Center to give students an overview of their organizations and opportunities. Check the calendar section of the Career Center web site for dates and times.
